JAPANTHER, BOYS WHO SAY NO, ABSOLUTELY FREE – APRIL 13th!!!

Hey All,

Everyone from Whippersnapper Gallery would like to cordially invite you to an amazing musical extravaganza! We’re holding a rock out fundraiser on Friday April 13th at The Garrison featuring JAPANTHER, BOYS WHO SAY NO and ABSOLUTELY FREE (formerly DD/MM/YYYY).

Whippersnapper College street had long been a venue uniting music, visual  art and community. IN our latest incarnation ( 144 sq feet) we have a greatly diminished people capacity and shows don’t work so well, but we always jump at the chance to work with musicians and get rowdy when we can. All of these bands have played at the whip in the past and we’ve always loved their wild-eyed, adventurous musical stylings.

12$ at Soundscapes, Rotate This and Whippersnapper (Thursday to Saturday).

All Proceeds go towards Whippersnapper Gallery’s NEW TRADITIONS: Arts, Music and Culture Festival on the Toronto Island in collaboration with Fedora Upsidedown and Artscape Gibralter Point

Updates, downdates and concert dates.

Hello there.

Whippersnapper is finally starting to feel like its old self again. The basement is clean(ish), we have a slew of new project coming up, the weather is warm enough to sit on the bench out front. Its great. Please stop by if you are in the neighbourhood. We’re here Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 1-7.

So in other news – its a little bit old news at this point, but I thought I would make official via a sweet blog post. Whippersnapper has brought on another programmer to work with the core team at the gallery. We’re super excited and proud to be working with Maggie Flynn. Aside from being an ambitious and committed artist in her own right, she’s extremely active in the arts community and always a pleasure to work with. As we move forward, we’re looking forward to seeing the improvements, changes and positivity that Maggie contributes.

Lastly, just a heads up – Whippersnapper is hosting a fundraiser on April 13th. We’re keeping it a little secretive until we roll out all the press next week, but I will say that we’ve book a couple great bands: Japanther, Boys Who Say No and Absolutely Free. Beyond this little tease, our lips are sealed until Monday.
