The social aspect surrounding books often informs the content inside them. The Personal Library is built based on a distributed survey on what makes the ideal personal library. The library will be open for the public to come in and utilize the space built for optimal reading enjoyment, and engage with the collection curated by Tetyana Herych and Emily Moriarty. Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, March 25th, coinciding with the launch of the much anticipated The Book on Information by James Maiangowi. The author will be present at The Personal Library for a reading, Q&A session, selfies, and autograph signings.
MARINA FATHALLA – UN-REGISTERED AFFECTS
March 28 – April 3
Opening Reception: Thursday, March 31. 8 – 11 PM
Un-registered Affects is an experimental project in search for alternative modes of feeling the land to bring a sense of intimacy to design processes through tactile modes. These modes explore possibilities to re-draw the relationship between body, archivist and land. The project is both a meta-methodology for architects and planners to have an expanded sense of relating to the land and also a conceptual piece that responds to the impending threat of erasure and the tensions between representing land as object and specimen vs land as something we grow among and effect.
