Glory Hole Gallery has existed as a miniature gallery space and artist collective in Toronto, dedicated to celebrating the lives and creative talents of 2SLGBTQ+ artists, since 2017.
Glory Hole Gallery first began programming 2SLGBTQ+ artists' work at Glad Day Bookshop as a creative response to the limited affordable gallery exhibiting spaces in Toronto, particularly in the Church and Wellesley area. Since 2017 Glory Hole Gallery has exhibited the work of 2SLGBTQ+ artists from Toronto, and around the world.
Moving into the future Glory Hole Gallery is dedicated to continuing the original mandate of the gallery to exhibit 2SGBTQ+ artists' work, while also supporting creatives through local collaborations, community workshops, and artist talks.
Glory Hole Gallery is happy to announce we will be expanding from our original miniature exhibiting format! For the next five months we will be hosting a series of exhibitions in the Whippersnapper Gallery space featuring 2SLGBTQ+ artists from Toronto, and from across what is known as Canada. Stay tuned to the Glory Hole Gallery website at www.gloryholegallery.com and Whippersnapper Gallery website www.whippersnapper.ca for announcements about upcoming exhibitions and featured artists!
Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and health and safety concerns, there will be limitations to in-person viewing of these exhibitions. Please stay tuned to the exhibition pages for details regarding exhibition viewing.
About Glory Hole Gallery
Glory Hole Gallery is the world’s first, and only, 2SLGBTQ+ miniature gallery celebrating the art, and life, of 2SLGBTQ+ people. Glory Hole Gallery was originally conceived in 2017 and consists of eight 12 x 12x 8 1/2 inch box galleries designed and constructed by Toronto-based artist Max Lupo. Art can be viewed through an eye hole at the front of the boxes with LED lighting illuminating the works at the push of a button.
Today, Glory Hole Gallery is operated and programmed through a collective of phenomenal Toronto-based artists and curators including Karina Iskandarsjah, Fallon Simard, Eric Chengyang, and Emily Peltier. Glory Hole Gallery is generously supported by a number of organizations and local Toronto businesses including the Toronto Arts Council, Community One Foundation, Glad Day Bookshop, Oasis Aqualounge, Pleasure Dome, and The 519 Community Centre. Today, Glory Hole Gallery continues to support 2SLGBTQ+ artists through exhibitions, artist talks, screenings, and community events. https://www.gloryhole-gallery.com/
