This year, Whippersnapper Gallery undertook well overdue renovations of our beloved space with support from an Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grant. Working in collaboration with SHEEEP Studio and their founder, architect Reza Nik, we added improved ventilation, comfortable seating, an accessible entryway, 1:1 and group meeting spaces, and prep and storage areas.

Our aim, as always, is not only to improve the safety and functionality of our space, but to better fulfill our mandate as a grassroots artist-run centre, a base for local organizing, and a hub for responsive programming by and for racialized, working class, queer, and disabled communities being displaced by gentrification in Chinatown/Kensington Market.
